WV DHHR receiving $1.eight Million to help maternal and youngster well being companies

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WDTV) – The West Virginia Department of Health (DHHR) to raise $ 1,872,726 to support maternal and child health services in West Virginia, said Senators Shelley Moore Capito (RW.Va.) and Joe Manchin (DW.Va.), members of the Senate Committee on Appropriations.

These funds are provided by the United States Department of Health (HHS).

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever that mothers and children in West Virginia have access to quality, affordable health care. I am excited that HHS is investing more than $ 1.8 million in West Virginia to support maternal and child health services across the state. As a member of the Senate Funds Committee, I will continue to raise funds and resources to support our mothers and children in the mountain state, ”said Senator Manchin.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has put additional strain on our mothers, children and young families in West Virginia. This funding provides vital support to our state health department and ensures that the services that our families rely on remain accessible. I will continue to be an advocate for our mothers and children in West Virginia, working to secure the resources they need to stay happy and healthy, ”said Senator Capito.
