A top Donald Trump adviser was secretly hired by a leading political strategy firm after he was forced to resign after a social media scandal, the Guardian has revealed. Miller resigned as managing editor of Teneo, the leading management consulting firm, on June 21, 2019 after posting a series of obscene tweets about Democratic Congressman Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

“I have parted ways with Teneo by mutual agreement and look forward to … my next step,” Miller said in a statement he made to the New York Times and other news outlets.

But Miller’s departure from Teneo was a sham. Previously undisclosed confidential records from Teneo show that the same day Miller signed a formal “separation agreement and general release” from Teneo, he signed a new contract with the company in which Teneo agreed to secretly advise Miller Engaged founded LLC, doing the same job, at the same base salary of nearly $ 500,000.

Miller’s claims of financial misfortune were indeed fiction – he had never actually lost his job or income. In fact, moving from one position to another for Miller was arguably a financial godsend for him. Miller received $ 90,000 in severance pay from his first position when he switched to his new one, according to confidential Teneo records, and he never missed a single paycheck from his Teneo work, as his new engagement was already there started the next day.

Under Miller’s new agreement for the Guardian to review, Teneo agreed to pay Miller’s wholly-owned LLC nearly $ 500,000 a year for his services, the same base salary he had received as a managing partner of Teneo.

To facilitate his solvency, Miller agreed, with Teneo’s approval, to set up his own company, a Delaware Corporation or LLC called SHW-Partner, according to Delaware State records.

In fact, Delaware State records show that Miller’s new LLC wasn’t officially incorporated until more than a full month after Miller signed the new contract.

In a statement, Miller said: “When my employee-employer relationship with Teneo was severed, I was faced with the loss of … income due to lost rewards and benefits. This financial setback has severely reduced my income. “

Teneo declined to comment when approached several times by the Guardian.

The new revelations come at a time when Miller, who was a senior political strategist in Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign, is playing an increasing role in Trump’s post-presidential life, and often acts as a spokesman for Trump.
