Two months after the official divorce, following months of rumors of problems between the two, Kanye took a step to obtain joint custody of their children. Both Kim and Kanye have remained silent about their breakup, although private details have found their way to the press.
The former superstar couple has reportedly both locked themselves in with their jobs while maintaining some sort of co-parenting agreement. They were nearing seven years of marriage when they decided to end their high profile relationship. Together they greeted four children – North, 7, Saint (5), Chicago (3), and Psalm (1). According to sources, the two didn’t have much to do with each other. Kanye changed his phone numbers and only allowed Kim to contact him through his security. It has also been said that Kanye visits her children when Kim is not at home.

The move further shows how smoothly the two stars are conducting their divorce proceedings. Yeezy’s founder recently filed documents received from Hollywood Life in which Kanye, like his wife, is seeking joint custody of North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. According to sources, the two are working on amicable parenting arrangements, even though Kanye spends a lot of time at his Wyoming ranch.
Co-parenting is often the hardest part of ending a relationship. When children are together, a couple needs to stay in each other’s lives in some ways, which can be difficult depending on the relationship between the parents. However, Kanye and Kim both seem determined to make the new situation as easy as possible for their children. Furthermore, neither Kim nor Kanye seem interested in cutting the others out of their children’s lives, suggesting that they may be able to work out a healthy situation for the future.
With Kanye busy at work on his upcoming collaboration with Yeezy X Gap, the fashion designer still places great emphasis on seeing his kids. “He still sees the kids just keeping everything private and quiet and not for long,” the source added. Meanwhile, the KKW Beauty founder reportedly remains positive, trying to keep peace with her estranged ex. “Kim will take you to Wyoming for the night or he will come to California for a few days and stay with friends,” the insider said. Despite the ongoing divorce proceedings, the former couple has worked out “their routine”. But things are more “on his schedule, which can be frustrating for Kim”. At least they both try for the sake of their children.
