Mahima Chaudhry made her Bollywood debut with Subhash Ghai’s film Pardes. She was a popular actress at the time. But she has had many problems and challenges in both her professional and personal life. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mahima poured her heart on her life. She talked about the challenges she faced while raising her daughter Ariana and battling for custody. Mahima married architect Bobby Mukherjee in 2006 and they began a troubled married life that led to their separation.

She said, “When we broke up and thought about taking our daughter Ariana to school, we had problems about which school to take her to and we didn’t agree on anything. This was another thing we disagreed on and the night he left for his European tour he suddenly changed his mind and said he had decided to send her to the school he went to. When I said no he said he won’t sign for it. I said, “don’t sign”. Then he went abroad and it was a 14 day trip. I went back to school and I remember they looked at the form and said the dad didn’t sign it. I said he’s out of town. They said, “Can we have him here to sign when he gets back?”

She then called her lawyer and told him about the situation. He told her that the father’s signature on an admission form was very important. He said to her, “If you are married, he is the guardian, and if you are not married, the mother is the guardian.”

“My attorney then said that I was lucky because the Right to Education Act was just being passed and it said, ‘If the school accepts your form and has given you approval, they can’t kick you out because of your father’s signature . “said Mahima.

Mahima revealed that she had two miscarriages while struggling in their married life. She also revealed that there was a tug of war for child custody. “The moment I left town, he came and took the child with him. My mother cannot say anything because it is his child. “
