Elkhart Co. Prosecutor’s Little one Help Workplace collects $25M in 2020, launches web-based portal and social media marketing campaign

ELKHART COUNTY, IND. (WANE) – In 2020, the Elkhart County Child Support Division announced it had raised over $ 25 million in child support, the largest amount in the county’s history.

The $ 25,373,916.00 amount is a 13% increase over 2019, prosecutors said.

As a test practice, cases of child benefit are selected at random every year and their overall performance is checked at the state level. The office announced in 2020 that the Elkhart County Child Support Office had achieved a 100% success rate for the third consecutive year in meeting federal “case closure, enforcement, payouts, medical assistance and intergovernmental action” requirements . Indiana currently ranks 7th in the nation for overall child benefit program performance, the office said.

Beginning April 5, the Elkhart County Attorney’s Office will open their web-based participant portal for the Children’s Fund. This online access gives current and new program participants access to child benefit forms to register, upload documents, change an address, update employment, or simply submit a question about their case from the comfort of their own home. As soon as a transmission has taken place via the portal, a tracking number is assigned with which the participants can follow the status of their transmission via the portal or by e-mail. The office said it is also launching a social media marketing campaign to help current and prospective participants in the Children’s Fund become more aware of a range of “toll-free” services. The combined project will help Elkhart County Child Support achieve its goal of helping families become more self-sufficient, both financially and medically.
