Dad dumps 80,000 pennies on estranged daughter’s garden for closing baby assist

A Virginia teenager showed her estranged father what good “cents” and maturity mean.

Avery Sanford hadn’t seen her father in years when he paid off his last child support last month and dumped 80,000 pennies on his ex-wife’s lawn, according to News 6 Richmond.

“I just turned 18. When I was in the middle of class, my father stopped by. He had rented a trailer, ”Sanford told the point of sale.

Her father, who is hoarding pennies, “stopped in front of the house and switched on the trailer so that it threw all the pennies in the grass,” she recalls.

“And my mother came out and said, ‘What are you throwing in my garden?’ She didn’t know who it was until he shouted, ‘This is your last child support.’

Instead of getting angry, the high school student decided to put the copper shipment aside for charity, according to the report.

The family raised every penny and planned to donate all $ 800 to Safe Harbor, a domestic violence center.

“It’s not just my mother he wants to embarrass, but me and my sister as well, and it’s annoying that he didn’t think about that beforehand,” the teenager told the broadcaster.

“When I turn around and donate this money to needy mothers and children, I feel like this makes this situation really positive. You can learn from this. ”

Her father told the station that he acted out of 18 years of pent-up frustration and that “the last thing he wanted to do” was to push his daughter further away.
