Court docket Strips James Youthful’s Father of Custody However Says Permission Wanted for Puberty Blockers, Gender Surgical procedures

Judge Mary Brown has granted full custody of eight-year-old James Younger to mother Anne Georgulas over father Jeff Younger’s protests, the latest order in a high-profile custody case.

For years, Georgulas has insisted that James identify as a girl named Luna. Mr. Younger disagrees, and the two of them spent much of James’ young life in court.

Brown of Dallas County’s 301st District Court gave Georgulas sole control of James’ primary residence, counseling, medication, education, and after-school activities.

“Mr. Younger did not make child support, medical assistance, and interest payments on time as ordered and did not pay his overdue assistance until after the enforcement petition was filed,” the memorandum said.

“The previous orders that Ms. Georgulas must inform Mr. Younger about doctor, counseling or psychiatric appointments or extracurricular activities for the children are canceled. In an effort to ensure the emotional well-being and physical safety of the children, the court orders that all tenancies of Mr. Younger be continuously monitored by Forensic Counseling Center 972.360.7437 at the sole expense and expense of Mr. Younger. “

The order adds that Georgulas may withhold information from Mr. Younger about the children’s extracurricular activities, school functions, enrollment, counseling and medical care.

Brown’s order makes a reservation in favor of Mr. Younger: Georgulas has the exclusive right to consent to James’ medical procedures, with the exception of hormone suppression therapy, puberty blockers, or transgender conversion surgery.

A virtual hearing follows a month ago in which Georgulas argued that the child’s gender identity was only tangential for the case.

“This is not about the gender issue of the child,” said Georgulas’ attorney, Jessica Janicek.

“This is just a conflicted custody case and you will hear a lot of issues regarding Jeff’s parental skills.”

Mr Younger, on the other hand, said his son’s gender identity was central to the case and said the allegations against him stemmed from his refusal to treat James as a girl.

“To downplay this for gender only is absolutely misleading and wrong. Everything here revolves around the gender issue. And it’s about the parents’ ability to deal with this situation, ”said Younger’s attorney, David Hanschen.

The Georgulas team claimed that further judicial intervention was required as Mr Younger refused to comply with a number of orders related to the upbringing of the child, including any necessary counseling and parenting decisions. She also alleged that the father’s child support payments were repeatedly late.

“Dad stopped the consultation after two sessions in December 2020 because he didn’t like the fact that he couldn’t have the sessions when he was in possession,” said Janicek.

“Dad repeatedly gives interviews and admits that he will not obey the deliberative order – the last interview he gave that day was Wednesday, June 30th, 2021.”

Regarding the advice, Mr. Younger’s team said they had no objection to the advisors but believed that “the system has been tricked”.

“When the child is [the counselors], the child comes from the care of the mother and is always disguised as a little girl. Papa only has property on Fridays, and neither of the two professionals has office hours on Fridays. And that’s why he thinks, and I agree with him, that it is really unfair that the child is only presented in the counseling system under the auspices and control of one parent, ”explains Hanschen.

Regarding child support payments, Mr. Younger simply claimed that he made the payments on time, but the Attorney General’s Office made them late.

Minor issues arising from disagreements between the parents over James’ gender were also up for debate.

Mr Younger and Georgulas disagree on James’ haircut length, a discussion that took a long time in the hearing.

They also disagree about the child’s education. Georgulas brings James to Coppell ISD over protests from Mr. Younger, who wants James to be homeschooled, alleging that Coppell inappropriately promotes James’ feminine identity, “Luna”.

Georgulas had also taken James to an extracurricular dance class for a while, until public pressure from the Facebook group “Save James” forced James to drop out.

While Mr. Younger refused to dance, he denied having control of the group.

As always, Mr. Younger claimed that James presented himself as a boy in his home, even though he kept feminine clothing as an option in James’ closet.

James Younger’s ongoing story inspired a number of bills in the Texas Legislature to ban procedures to change the sex of a child who all died without a vote in the House of Representatives.
