What is Black Widow 24 Hour Police Custody about?

Rob Parkes comes to a court hearing

Victoria Breeden attempted to convince three men to kill her husband between 2014 and 2019 after losing custody of their child after the couple divorced in 2008.

Part one will focus on the moment the police received a terrifying 24-minute secret recording of Breeden’s then-partner Graham Wall.

Mr. Wall feared Breeden was having an affair and hid his cell phone in a closet under the stairs of her house to see what she was up to.

In the recording, Breeden overheard with another man about how her ex-husband could be murdered or seriously injured and that it would cost £ 10,000 to £ 15,000 if we saw each other later.

The case was brought to Cambridgeshire police’s knowledge in November 2019 when Wall reached out to officers with the shocking recording.

As a result, the police are faced with the task of finding out if the recording contains real threats or “pillow talk” with the man – Earl Gernon – whom they met on a dating site.

Part two follows the police who take Breeden into custody and search her home for evidence.

DC Louisa Abbott of the Cambridgeshire Police fears she is dealing with the smartest criminal she has ever met.

Victoria Breeden was held in prison for nine and a half years for soliciting the murder of her ex-husband.

She was convicted on July 31, 2020 at Chelmsford Crown Court after a trial found guilty of three charges of murder of Rob Parkes.

Mr Justice Chamberlain, who convicted Breeden, said: “The evidence shows that your main motivation in convincing others to kill Rob Parkes was to regain custody of (a child).

“It must be clear to you now that this cannot happen.”

In response to the finding, Detective Inspector Mike Barnshaw of the Cambridgeshire Constabulary said, “This was a five month investigation of Breeden’s repeated calls for men to kill their ex-husband over several years.

“Breeden’s behavior was calculating, purposeful, persistent and dangerous. It was motivated by her hatred of Mr. Parkes and a jury has sentenced her on three counts.

“The sentence reflects the severity of the evidence highlighting Breeden’s persistent behavior and repeated attempts to have Mr. Parkes killed.

“Hopefully this belief will give the victim some peace of mind and get a dangerous person off the streets of Cambridgeshire.”

He added: “I hope this shows that the Cambridgeshire Police, whoever is involved, take all domestic abuse matters seriously and I would encourage anyone who suffers to contact us and be safe that we will help. “
