Sheriff’s Office: The incident was isolated, not a threat to the public

EVART – Authorities arrested a man after finding a young child who had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday, Meceola Central Dispatch received an emergency call regarding a knife stab on the 400 block on South Pine Street in Evart town. This comes from a press release from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

The MPs responded to the location together with the Osceola County ambulance service. MPs located a young child who had suffered multiple life-threatening stab wounds.

The youth was transported from the scene to Grand Rapids to undergo surgery.

After a thorough investigation by the sheriff’s office, assisted by Michigan State Police, an 18-year-old man was arrested shortly after the first 911 call.

The sheriff’s office wants citizens to know that this incident was isolated and that there is no danger to the general public.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office thanks the Michigan State Police, Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory, Evart Police Department, Osceola County Ambulance, Osceola County Animal Control, Reed City Police Department, and Evart Fire Department for their assistance in this matter .
