UPDATE: Pupil in custody after photographs fired inside Plymouth Center College

During a press conference Monday morning, Plymouth Police Chief Erik Fadden said that around 8:44 am, officers “heard what they recognized as gunfire inside the building”

The police responded and arrested a person identified as a student. Fadden said a gun was recovered from the scene.

The Superintendent of Robbinsdale Area Schools, Dr. Stephanie Burrage said “multiple” shots were fired in a hallway outside of a bathroom.

Burrage said some students witnessed the incident.

“Any child who goes through this at school is a challenging day,” said Burrage.

Fadden stated that no injuries were reported and that the scene was included. A previous post by Robbinsdale Area Schools stated that students were safe.

Officers and school staff are linked to the detained student’s family, Fadden said.

More updates are expected later in the day, Fadden said.

Those wishing to pick up students are asked to do so in Armstrong High School’s east car park.
