United Method Searching for Help For Baby Studying Program

The United Way of Southwest Michigan encourages everyone to help a child learn to read by sponsoring them in the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. Sharon Polfus, United Way of Southwest Michigan essential gifts director, told WSJM News Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a children’s literacy program offered in partnership with the Dollywood Foundation in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.

“It’s for kids under five,” said Polfus. “When you sign up for the program, you will receive a free, age-appropriate book that will be sent to your home every month from signing up until your fifth birthday.”

According to Polfus, the United Way cost to deliver the program is $ 25 per child per year. The United Way of Southwest Michigan invites supporters to sponsor children participating in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. It costs $ 25 to support a child for one year, $ 75 for three years, and $ 125 for every five years. The United Way hopes to raise enough for 200 children every five years.
