Teen Reacts After Dad Dumps 80,000 Pennies on Garden for Closing Youngster Assist Cost

* A Richmond family hit the headlines last month when 80,000 pennies landed on their front yard.

“I just turned 18. When I was in the middle of class, my father stopped by. He had rented a trailer, ”said high school student Avery Sanford, as reported by wtvr.com. “He stopped in front of the house and turned on the trailer so it would throw all the pennies into the grass and my mother came out and said, ‘What are you dumping into my garden?’ She didn’t know who it was until he shouted, ‘This is your last child support.’

Sanford, who has not spoken to her father in years, added: “He’s trying to embarrass not only my mother but me and my sister and it’s annoying that he didn’t think about it before he did Has.”

The teenager and her mother decided to donate every penny Safe haven, a center for domestic violence.

“When I turn around and donate this money to needy mothers and children, I feel like it makes this situation really positive. You can learn from it, ”said Avery.

“It is really hurtful and harmful to your children when you do this. It doesn’t matter if they are young or adult, your parents’ actions will always have an impact on you, ”she added.

Meanwhile, the teen’s father said his emotions got the best out of him after 18 years of built-up frustration, the report said. Avery said the Penny incident put another wedge between her and her father.
