Suspect in custody in Algiers capturing that left a person lifeless, child damage

The New Orleans Police Department arrested Carlos Brown, 28, in connection with the shooting in Algiers Wednesday in which a man died and a baby was injured. The shooting took place in the 4600 Block Kabel Drive around 1:46 p.m. There, NOPD found a man who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a vehicle. He died on the spot. A woman and a baby were later admitted to a hospital. The child was shot in the leg. Not long after, NOPD responded to another shootout down Southlawn Boulevard, which was about a mile away. A man was found there who was shot in the stomach. Officials said the two shootings were linked and that Brown knew the victims. Brown is now charged with second degree murder, domestic abuse of children, and two charges of simple assault.
