Suspect in custody after actual property agent discovered useless in a home Tuesday

A man was found dead in a house near the 19th and Q Tuesday. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Captain Eric Sellers identified the victim as 70-year-old Michael “Mickey” Sodoro. Sodoro was a real estate agent working for NP Dodge. “It’s kind of creepy, kind of scary to know that a murder has happened in our neighborhood,” said neighbor Becki Stolp. Authorities said Sodoro never came home Monday night. Sellers said his family filed a missing person report and told MPs that he went to the West Omaha home to show potential renters the property. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office found his body in the house on Tuesday morning and declared his death an investigated murder. Sodoro’s car was found abandoned blocks from the house. “You are likely to see posts by now where he came over here and met someone and I think people think that’s a suspect,” Sellers said. “We’re looking into it, but we can’t even tell you if that’s a suspect. Could have been someone who knew him who came here. We don’t know yet.” Wednesday afternoon, a law enforcement agency told KETV NewsWatch 7 that a suspect is in custody. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Ross S. Lorello III. The sheriff’s office said an investigation revealed that Lorello met Sodoro on the property. DCSO said Sodoro showed Lorello the house. According to the sheriff’s office, MPs believe Lorello is responsible for Sodoro’s death. This is an ongoing investigation, the sheriff’s office said. Sellers added that estate agents should visit the houses in pairs for security reasons, the neighbors told KETV NewsWatch 7 that the owners of this house moved out the week before Christmas and that it has been empty since then, barring occasional visits to Sodoro. “I feel for the family, especially around Christmas time,” said neighbor Brian Stolp. “The loss and all – that’s unexpected. That’s something you don’t expect.” ‘Sodoro’s colleagues at NP Dodge said they were devastated. “He was in the office Monday and it was a normal day, he was his happy self and preparing for the holidays and family. He loved family and talked about family to everyone. So it was just a normal day,” said Duane Rockette, “We’re here to comfort one another, it’s just utterly tragic,” said Bill Black. The investigators have not published a motive for the murder. Court records show that Lorello has no real criminal history but is facing financial difficulties. In 2017, he was sued for $ 600,000 for a house he built. In 2018, court records show that his wages were garnished by a credit management service. In 2019, Lorello divorced, according to court records. The same records show that more than $ 1,300 a month is due to his ex-wife as child support for their three children.
