Jessica Marie Evans, 29, of Stuart, was arrested Tuesday with a warrant for assault in the first offense.

A Stuart woman was arrested Tuesday with a Dallas County warrant related to a weekend incident in which she allegedly assaulted a Stuart man during a custody battle.

Jessica Marie Evans, 29, of 615 N. Sherman St., Stuart, has been charged with assault.

The incident occurred at around 7:15 am on Saturday on the 900 block of Dallas Street in Dexter, where Evans allegedly “punched” the victim in the neck and scratched his arm, causing bleeding during a custody problem, according to court records.

Evans “escaped the scene” before a Dallas County deputy sheriff arrived according to court records, and an arrest warrant for Evans was ordered on June 21 and served on June 22.

Evans was held in the Dallas County Jail before putting on a $ 300 cash or bond bond. She is scheduled for a July 14 hearing in Dallas County District Court.
