Southern Charm’s Kathryn Dennis has temporarily lost custody of her children, Kensie and Saint, to Thomas Ravenel after citing neglect and abuse.

Ravenel alleged in court documents that Saint had fetal alcohol syndrome as a result of Dennis’ drinking alcohol while pregnant. In December 2020, documents emerged indicating that the child “was previously diagnosed with FAS due to Kathryn’s excessive drug and alcohol use in the womb,” reports The Sun. Her son “took years of speech and occupational therapy to combat his delays, but he is still falling behind in school”.

Ravenel also announced that Dennis was not actively participating in Saint’s therapy. He pointed to a folder of worksheets for Saint to fill out with Dennis, who “was never touched.”

The custody battle has been going on for years, with the last fight sparking in October. The couple previously shared custody of the children after Dennis lost custody over drug use. She went to rehab and the former couple eventually opted for joint custody.

However, Ravenel cited that Dennis was no longer sober. Noting that there were “changes” that “affected the health, safety and well-being” of children, “The Sun reported in October. Ravenel believed Dennis had” relapsed and no longer sobered up from illegal drugs. “He Also claimed Dennis used cocaine and kept the illegal drug within reach of the children.

Dennis surprised the audience and some of the cast when she announced that she was drinking alcohol again. She initially admitted that she drank alcohol after her 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen was questioned. Fans wondered if Dennis was drunk, but she later insisted that she was just plain nervous. But she said she could drink alcohol during the Southern Charm season six reunion.

While Dennis didn’t drink alcohol on camera in season six, she did so in season seven. Craig Conover and Dennis got together for lunch at the start of the seventh season and ordered a cocktail. Dennis claimed she didn’t drink too much and Austen Kroll said he was glad that her alcohol consumption was no longer being covered up.

“I’m so sick and tired of it, like, you know, I don’t drink a narrative,” he told US Weekly. “As soon as, as you know, she came out the gates and said, ‘I’m drinking again,’ I said, ‘Yes’. You know how ‘well’. ”

“I don’t care if I discuss it with anyone outside of the camera,” he continued. “So, I think that you know she faced [it] Kind of frontal and what that does is that it keeps other people from talking about it, you know, behind it [your] back. “But then he added, hoping” It doesn’t turn out to be a problem. “
