Police have suspect in custody following capturing that injured 4, together with 3-year-old

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says police have a person in custody they believe may be linked to Monday’s shooting that injured four people, including a 3 year old who was shot in the head.

“I would like to thank the members of the community for the tips and information received that resulted in our arrest of this person,” said Mayor Brown, who would not divulge the person’s name or pending charges until the person is in custody is charged. The indictment is expected to take place in Buffalo City Court Thursday morning.

“A three-year-old child was shot in the head for doing nothing but watching fireworks with his family, and the community responded. The number of tips and phone calls, the cooperation was excellent and showed us as an example that we can bring people to justice who are responsible for these crimes through cooperation between the community and the police. “

Police also say they were helped by Safe Cam technology, which requires home and business owners to register their surveillance cameras with the Buffalo Police Department.

“Every day people set up cameras. They buy doorbell cameras and the like and we ask them to register those cameras as you never know what your camera might pick up and it doesn’t matter that your camera is off the scene. It could capture someone coming to the crime scene or leaving the scene. “
