April is the month for the prevention of child abuse.

To show support and raise awareness, members of the Davenport Police Department and Child Abuse Council attended a wind turbine prevention event by planting wind turbines in a garden outside the Davenport Police Department Thursday morning.

The blue wind turbines are a symbol of the healthy, happy and full childhood that all children deserve.

Other wind turbine gardens in the area will be exhibited by child abuse agencies and their local partners during the month of April.
