Man in custody after spouse fatally shot, 10-year outdated injured at Spring house

Spring, Texas – A man is in custody after he fatally shot his wife and wounded a 10-year-old child Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s office.

“A man called 911 and reported that he had shot his wife and asked for units to come to the place,” said HSCO Sergeant Jason Brown.

At around 5 p.m., MPs were sent to a residence on the 19500 block of Lockridge for a shooting. Upon arrival, MPs found a deceased woman in the apartment.

According to MPs, they also found a 10-year-old child barricaded in his room.

“The child was slightly injured from an abrasion on the arm, but otherwise unharmed,” Brown said.

The suspect was arrested at the scene, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a post on social media.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

A second person believed to be the victim’s loved one was arrested at the scene for crossing the yellow warning tape.

He is expected to be charged with disturbance.
