Lacking 4-year-old Louisiana boy discovered unhurt; father in custody

The missing 4-year-old boy from Lafourche Ward was found unharmed, and detectives have tracked down the boy’s father, 39-year-old Luke Brown.

LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. – Update: The missing 4-year-old boy from Lafourche Ward was found unharmed and detectives have taken into custody the boy’s unprisoned father, 39-year-old Luke Brown.

A 4-year-old Louisiana boy was believed to be in “imminent danger” and police wanted the public to be on the alert.

The boy was last seen on Louisiana Highway 1 in Raceland on Saturday.

The boy was found, but the LPSO plans to interview the boy’s unprisoned father, 39-year-old Luke Brown.

Police reports describe him as having brown hair and brown eyes, being Caucasian in appearance, about five feet 11 inches tall, and weighing about 175 pounds.

“He may be driving a 2008 black Cadillac with Louisiana license plate 653EGC,” the police statement said. “The displayed license plate is a switch plate that may be displayed upside down on the vehicle.”

Officials said the reason police used a child-at-risk or missing child alert instead of an Amber Alert is because the person suspected of having the child has a close relationship with him. In this case, that person is the boy’s father.
