Kansas Division for Kids and Households Selects Conduent to Improve Youngster Assist Case … | Information

Conduent will support the state’s new platform from an aging mainframe computer to a modern, web-based system for 131,000 children and their parents

After a 19-month implementation phase, there is one year of maintenance support

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, Aug. 23, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) has selected Conduent Incorporated (Nasdaq: CNDT), a business process services and solutions company, to reposition its child in support of the Case management system that affects approximately 131,000 children and their parents in the state. Under the new contract, Conduent will manage the migration of the nationwide child benefit enforcement system from an outdated mainframe application to a modern, web-based application running on the Azure cloud platform.

Today, about half of government childcare facilities still rely on older mainframes, which creates high operating costs and makes it difficult to make changes and find technical resources to support them. Using advanced code and data conversion tools, the Conduent Kansas migration will help reduce project completion times and avoid retraining of agency staff. The newly migrated system does not require any change in the way they access or use the system, resulting in a seamless transition.

“We are excited to partner with Conduent in this important step toward a more modern system for our state and Kansas families in need of child support,” said Laura Howard, secretary for the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

The contract includes a 19-month implementation period for the new system, followed by a one-year period during which Conduent will provide operational support services.

“We are proud to have Kansas DCF trust our experience and capabilities on this important nationwide project,” said Mark King, group president, Payment and Eligibility Solutions, Conduent. “As child benefit enforcement agencies increasingly seek to modernize their systems, our approach will help reduce government agencies’ long-term costs while ensuring that states and families have access to a system that provides continuity and reliability.”

This contract expands Conduent’s partnership with the state of Kansas. In November 2020, the company won a contract with the state’s Department of Health and Environment to provide eligibility and application processing services for the state’s Medicaid and CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance) programs. Conduent also provides support services for the government-led delivery of benefits for the elderly, disabled and long-term care programs.

Conduent has been a trusted operating partner for childcare facilities across the country for 30 years, helping them improve technology and services for children and families. The company processes more than $ 11 billion, or about a third of all U.S. child support payments, each year.
