Jake Angeli, ‘QAnon Shaman’ arrested after Capitol riots, not consuming in custody: Report

The shirtless, face-painted, animal-skinned man who was part of the U.S. Capitol riot reportedly refused to eat while in custody on federal charges because he was not provided organic food, according to his mother and court-appointed attorney.

Arizona Jake Angeli, real name Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley and also known as “QAnon Shaman” has not eaten since reporting to the FBI office in Phoenix on Saturday, the Republic of Arizona reported Monday, citing his mother and public defender.

Gerald Williams, Angeli’s public defense attorney, said during a trial Monday that Angeli was present by phone from a quarantined area of the Phoenix Detention Center where he was being held and said his client was on a restricted diet.

Williams said he wasn’t sure if Angeli’s diet restrictions were religious or dietary reasons. But Angeli’s mother, Martha Chansley, told the Republic in court that her son “gets very sick if he doesn’t eat organic foods. He has to eat. “

The judge in Angeli’s case asked his attorney to contact the U.S. Marshal’s Office to clarify his client’s refusal, adding, “Mr. Chansley has to eat, ”said the Republic.

Angeli, who was often present at pro-Trump protests across the country, was photographed inside the Capitol wearing an animal skin hat, no shirt and face painted red, white and blue after a pro-Trump mob broke through the building.

He believes in the conspiracy theory known as “QAnon,” which claims that Trump is fighting a secret cabal of Democrats who are running a sex ring for children and are trying to overthrow the president.
