Young Brittany Potts was scared as she waited backstage to meet rock god Bruce Dickinson.

But she wasn’t a star fan. She is the love child of the Iron Maiden frontman, who he had in the eighties, and Brittany, then 23, met her father for the first time.

Her fears became gratifying when the Run To The Hills singer gave her a hug and he was overjoyed the next day when she returned with her two sons – which meant he was a grandpa.

But today, 33-year-old Brittany tells for the first time how she warmly said goodbye to Bruce that day in 2010 and then stayed in touch via email for two years – then he mysteriously and cruelly gilded her out of his Frozen life.

She says, “I sent Bruce a lot of emails, but he just didn’t reply. I got really angry and called and left messages.

“I just wanted him to talk to me and he never did. He never gave me an explanation why.

“I was ashamed because I was born the result of an affair. He made me feel like I had something to hide. I’m angry because I still have questions that he never answered when I met him. “

“I’ve always felt like an outcast and a black sheep.”

Brittany, mother of sons David, 17, and Gabriel, 14, added: “The part that bothered me the most was that I was a mom in my teens and twenties trying to juggle multiple jobs.

“At first I thought, ‘Maybe he doesn’t know I have problems,’ then I thought, ‘Maybe he doesn’t care.’

“His fame made it harder because I would see and hear things – so he wrote a book and I am not mentioned in it. I don’t exist. I felt very, very undesirable.
“After he cut me off, I didn’t feel good enough. Now he has a chance – it is now his last chance. “

Angela was only 17 years old when she met Bruce, in her late twenties, in Frankfurt and celebrated them in bars and hotels. American Brittany says: “They hung out several times and were together for about two weeks.

Then a friend told Bruce that Mom was pregnant and Bruce apparently threw a television into a hotel wall and yelled, ‘She lied about birth control’. “

Brittany was born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1987, just before her mother turned 18. They later moved to California.

Brittany says Bruce was given a blood test at the Hyatt Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in the early 1990s, adding, “It showed that I was his daughter.

“The will means that I am now recognized as his daughter.”

“After about six months, my mother got maintenance checks. It was $ 1,500 a month (around £ 1,100) plus extras like medicine, private lessons, and dance lessons five times a week.

“My mother never hid anything from me, she always told me who my father was and gave me pictures of him.”

After Brittany finally met her father in 2010 only to be left out in the cold, Brittany now wonders if it was because Bruce’s estranged wife, Paddy, told him not to have anything to do with her.

Paddy died last May, with all of her £ 1.7 million left in Bruce’s will. Brittany says it contained specific instructions that none of the money should go to her or her children.

Paddy was found dead at the age of 58 in her and Bruce’s £ 3 million former marriage home in London. He later said, “This is a terrible tragedy that appears to be a tragic accident.”

The money went to Bruce despite giving up 29-year marriage for superfan Leana Dolci, 46.

It is alleged that Paddy’s will said, “I deliberately and in full knowledge of the matter I made no provision for Brittany Nicole Potts or her children.”

Bruce is believed to be negotiating his divorce from Paddy when she died. Brittany says she was shocked and confused – and tells Bruce to break his silence.

She says, “If Paddy had something against me that made her mention me and my children in her will, it would be karma for it to make the world know that I am Bruce’s daughter.

“She achieved the opposite of what she wanted. I want to ask Bruce, “Was it because of Paddy that you cut me off?”

“I just want to know if Bruce is cold hearted.”

“I felt confused by the will, but it means that I am now recognized as his daughter. By putting me in the will, she confirmed that.

“I just want to know if Bruce is really cold hearted, or was it about Paddy and protecting her?”

Meanwhile, Brittany can only puzzle over that day in 2010 when she met Bruce and also Paddy when playing Iron Maiden in San Bernardino, California.

She says she met her father after telling security that she was his daughter. She adds, “Bruce’s eyes lit up and the first thing he said to me was ‘You are so beautiful’.

“I didn’t know how to feel about it and I said, ‘No, I am not, I look like you’. He told me to come in and he hugged me very much and it felt like I would hug me but a man version, it was strange.

We sat down and I tried to ask him important questions, such as whether I needed to know about health problems in the family.

“He avoided that and just wanted to talk about my mother. Minutes later there was a knock on the door and his wife Paddy came in. She said, “It’s so great to meet you.”

“She spoke very slowly and sweetly, like a fairy godmother.” The day after that “fairytale” meeting, Brittany said she had taken her sons to meet Bruce and he exclaimed, “Oh my god, I’m a grandfather.”

Brittany says, “He picked her up and was excited, hugged her and was really happy. We took a picture. When we said goodbye, he made me believe we would keep in touch. “

She claims to have stayed in touch by email, and aspiring singer Brittany even sent Bruce recordings of her singing, which he said he praised.

But it all ended two years later after she met Bruce and Paddy’s son Austin. He is one of three grown children they had together – the others are son Griffin and daughter Kia.

Brittany says, “I texted Austin after that night, but he never replied.” At the time, she claimed that Bruce had also broken contact.

Brittany has now begun legally changing her name from Potts to Dickinson and believes she has her biological father’s genetic ability to sing. Bruce has so far refused to comment.
