Inmate who died in custody confronted costs of sexually assaulting youngsters |

A Wymore man has been identified as the inmate who died in custody at the Gage County Detention Center last week.

Last Thursday, around 11 a.m., 53-year-old Mark S. Hadley was found unresponsive in his cell

Hadley was in custody for two first degree sexual assaults on a child and two incest cases.

He had been detained on the charges since December.

A press release stated that Beatrice Fire and Rescue staff received a call when he was found, resumed CPR on Hadley and took him to Beatrice Community Hospital.

The emergency room at Beatrice Community Hospital continued CPR, but he was pronounced dead at 12:18 p.m.

The Nebraska State Patrol has been contacted to conduct an investigation as required by law and an autopsy is scheduled. Foul play is not suspected.

In late November, Wymore police were reported that Hadley had allegedly inappropriately touched two children, currently 9 and 12 years old.
