After not doing interviews for three years, Berry spoke to Vogue about her breakup with Aubry.

By OK! Berry said at the time: “You just notice that you shouldn’t keep your distance with everyone. We should give birth to this amazing little person. And I think that’s why we came together. And that’s why all three of us will be together forever, ”she said at the time.

Despite trying to put their previous troubles aside to raise Nahla, the exes haven’t been friendly for years. Berry accused Aubry of emotional abuse throughout their relationship.

The separation of Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry led to a nasty battle over maintenance and custody

After Berry and Aubry split in 2010, the Oscar winner moved on and began a relationship with Olivier Martinez. Martinez and Berry became engaged and Berry wanted to move to France with Nahla to live full time in France with Olivier. Aubry successfully blocked Berry’s request to do so, and a custody and livelihood battle ensued.

Berry was ordered to give Aubry $ 16,000 a month in child support. However, the two share custody, and both are allowed to spend the same amount of time with her.

By E! News, the court’s decision is believed to be due to the former couple’s individual salaries. At the time of the judgment, Berry had approximately $ 4.7 million in just nine months. Aubry’s income was significantly lower, making only $ 192,921 from October 2011 to October 2012.

Halle Berry beats Gabriel Aubry for extorting child support in the settlement

Berry and Olivier married and welcomed a son of their own, but divorced a few years later. Raising two children in Hollywood isn’t easy, and while Berry has the financial resources, that doesn’t mean she’s happy to give Aubry $ 16,000 a month in support.

Berry spoke of it in response to a fan Instagram comment. The 54-year-old actor called the verdict “extortion”.

“I’ve been paying for it for a decade now,” she continued. “I think if a woman or a man has to pay support that goes way beyond what is reasonable needed to support the child, I think that is wrong … I understand that some parents (man or woman) may need help need, but I also feel that in these modern times both men and women have a responsibility to look after their children financially, to work hard, and to make every effort to do so. ”

Aubry did not respond publicly to Berry’s remarks.
