Greensburg police have 2 individuals in custody in reference to reported little one abduction

August 31 – The Greensburg police took two people into custody on Tuesday in connection with an alleged child abduction in the city.

Sgt. Reginald Harbarger said the parents of a one-year-old boy took him out of a relative’s house in Pershing Square at around 1 p.m. The parents have no custody of the boy. You are from Arizona and are not allowed to have any contact with him, said Harbarger.

Police stopped the couple’s Kia Soul around 4:00 p.m. and they were taken into custody. The child was found with them and was safe, it said. Further details were not published.

Police said the couple went to the relative’s house on Tuesday and asked to see the boy. They were allowed to see him briefly and set off with the child.

“They basically just ran out and got in their vehicle and left,” said Harbarger.

The police want to charge the parents with encroaching on custody of a child.
