Dane County Man Charged with Distributing Baby Pornography | USAO-WDWI

Madison, Wis. – A Dane County man charged with indicting two cases of child pornography distribution in indictments returned today by a Madison-based federal grand jury, according to United States attorney Timothy M. O’Shea for the western district of Wisconsin.

Brett Blomme, 40, of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, is charged with dual dissemination of a visual representation of a minor who is sexually explicit. The indictment alleges that on October 30 and November 1, 2020, Blomme sent a file containing a picture of child pornography to another user via Kik Messenger.

At the time of the offenses alleged in the indictment, Blomme was serving as a judge in Milwaukee County Children’s Court.

If convicted, Blomme faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Assistant US attorney Chadwick Elgersma handles the prosecution.

Your attention is drawn to the fact that a charge is just an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
