A FATHER reportedly cut the throats of his two children who were visiting him for Christmas when they tried to escape before they killed themselves.

The horrific holiday murder took place in the house of ex-carpenter Alessandro Pontin (49) in Trebaseleghe in the Italian region of Venento.

Alessandro Pontin murdered his two children after reporting disputes over child support with their mother

The father of two was separated from the children’s mother and it was his turn to look after her over the Christmas period.

His daughter Francesca, 15, and son Pietro, 13, were reportedly sleeping in their beds when he brutally attacked them.

The children had previously lived with their mother Roberta Calzarotto (47) and their parents before visiting their father for Christmas.

Initial reports suggested the teenagers were killed in their sleep, but after analyzing the scene, police said they tried to escape their father’s violent rampage.

Traces of blood on the floor of the house were trampled several times by Pontin and his two children, suggesting they realized what was happening before they were cruelly butchered.

The self-proclaimed expert in holistic disciplines is said to have killed himself with a gun after the bloodbath.

Pontin left a suicide note asking to be cremated and his ashes scattered – but without mentioning his children, FanPage reports.

According to the children’s uncle, Claudio Calzarotto, the estranged couple “constantly” argued about monthly maintenance payments for both children.

“My sister was getting 100 euros a month for the two children, and the judge seemed inappropriate and unduly low.

“She asked for a little more, but it was only archived this week and she was very angry,” he said.

Local media reported that her mother, a nurse at Camposampiero Hospital, was struggling to raise her children on a single salary and asked her father to increase the payment.

When she was informed of the death of her children, she collapsed and is currently being hospitalized for shock.

The bodies of the three were discovered by Pontin’s brother.

He revealed how his murderous sibling struggled to find a secure job after his career as a carpenter. So he tried to reinvent himself as a masseuse before becoming a holistic expert and then a zen motivational expert.

He created a site called “The Reflected World of Alesandro Pontin,” which may contain gruesome references to his shocking crimes behind his Zen image.

“With a conscious touch, you will let go of the discomfort, understand the cause and find harmony,” said one post.

Another quote on his Facebook profile reads: “Life is you, if life is hard to bear, it’s because it’s very hard to bear yourself.”

The distraught grandfather of the children, Aldo Cazzarotto, said: “Not even an animal kills its own children like that. But which man was that?

“I picked her up from school every day because my daughter is working. They ate with me and my wife. How can we live without them? “

He claimed his daughter often warned police that her ex-partner was a dangerous man, but said nothing would be done until it was too late.
