Canton mother accused of threatening court docket officers after custody listening to

CANTON – A northeastern canton woman is charged with threatening to kill a judge, social worker and court-appointed attorney after her toddler was taken away.

The 38-year-old woman was arrested at her home at 11.40pm on Thursday by Stark County Sheriff’s MPs for two retaliatory crimes.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Craig Kennedy said additional charges are under review.

According to reports from the canton police, a member of the child protection service called officers to her home at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday to help remove a small child. Dennis Garren said it was the only time the police had been to the address that year.

Prison and court records say the woman is accused of “sending messages to another party stating that she would kill the judge, the CPS worker, and the court-affiliated attorney who (the child) was dating.” removed her house “.

The court records said the judge is a judge on the Stark County Family Court.

Kennedy said the charges were the result of an ongoing trial in family court.

He said investigators determined the threat was feasible, “and apparently we are taking it seriously”. The charges followed a trial on Thursday, he said.

“Based on our investigations, we had no evidence of harm to the child,” he said. Kennedy said he did not know where the child was being taken.

Court records show the woman remained behind bars on $ 200,000 bail.

Police reports did not state why CPS attempted to remove the child, but court officials said their concerns stemmed from an earlier domestic-related confrontation on March 11.

The child’s 27-year-old father has been in prison since March 11th.

He was charged on April 9 by a Stark County grand jury on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, endangering children, resisting arrest, obstruction of business and two cases of domestic violence.

“The agency has been trying to work with the family out of court to address our concerns,” said Jerry Coleman, associate assistant director of Stark County Job and Family Services.

“These efforts were ultimately unsuccessful and due to the agency’s ongoing concerns, we filed an application for the child’s temporary detention on (Wednesday),” he said. “We had a shelter care hearing yesterday and the court granted Job and Family Services’ application for temporary detention.”

Hours after that final hearing, the child’s mother was arrested on charges of issuing the death threats.
