Boy Discovered Protected, Father in Custody Following Amber Alert in Philadelphia – NBC10 Philadelphia

A man is in custody while his 2-year-old son is safe in Philadelphia following an Amber Alert.

Police said Byron McDonald, II, 28, abducted his son from the 2500 block on North Bancroft Street around 1:30 p.m. Friday. A woman was also found dead on Friday, although police have not yet confirmed whether the woman’s death was related to the kidnapping.

Investigators later found that McDonald and his son were staying at the Aloft Philadelphia Airport Hotel along the 4300 block of Island Avenue, and a barricade situation was declared.

McDonald was later detained at the hotel while his son was safe inside. The police also said a woman was in her hotel room. Police said neither McDonald nor the woman were injured.
