August is Nationwide Youngster Assist Consciousness Month

Champaign County’s Child Support Program provides services to over 2,000 children. The Champaign County’s Childcare Division within the Champaign County’s Department of Job and Family Services (CCDJFS) works diligently to ensure these children receive financial support for a better future.

The CCDJFS childcare division promotes responsible parenting, family self-sufficiency, and the well-being of children. It does this by providing services that track parents, determine parentage, prepare child benefit and medical care orders, collect and distribute child benefit, change orders when circumstances change, and enforce orders that are not paid for.

Champaign County is able to meet and often surpass state-level performance averages by assisting attendees on-site with payment instructions.

The CCDJFS / Child Support Department provides services to families of all types, from divorced parents to unmarried parents to family carers, foster families for children and others regardless of family income.

On site, the CCDJFS / Child Support Department manages approximately 2,700 cases and raises approximately $ 6.37 million in child support each year.

Support is the key to children growing up happy and strong. Please contact us at 937-484-1500 if you have any questions about our childcare program.

Stacy Cox, MSW, is the director of the Department of Job and Family Services for Champaign County.
