Armed suspect taken into custody, secret bunker situated throughout search warrant for making youngster pornography

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG / WECP) – A man suspected of doing child pornography at his DeFuniak Springs home is currently in custody after facing law enforcement officers armed with a shotgun.

The Walton County’s Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit executed a search warrant on Rock Hill Road on December 16 after providing a lead to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

When the officers arrived at the house, the suspect Marty Scott Bass, 57, came to the door with a shotgun while the search warrant was being initiated. When Bass received several orders from SWAT team members at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, he laid down the gun and was quickly arrested.

While searching the house, officials said they found a Bass cell phone. Investigators say the device contained more than 100 images of child pornography, some of which were produced by Bass from children between the ages of 8 and 10.

In addition to what the child pornography authorities found on Bass’s phone, a secret bunker was also found during the search warrant. It is said that the entrance to the bunker is disguised as a bank in the shed next to the house. When the bench was raised, a hole was found that led into the ground.

Bass was arrested and charged with 100 cases of possession of child pornography and 10 cases of child pornography production.
