Human Services Department

There will be some changes to payments and services for Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support customers during the December and January holidays.

All service centers and most phone lines providing Centrelink, Medicare and Child Benefit services are closed on Christmas Day, December 25th through Tuesday, December 29th, and New Year’s Day, January 1st.

Some smaller locations – including remote service centers, agents, and access points – may close on Thursday, December 24, 2020 and reopen for business on Monday, January 4, 2021. The closing dates will be announced to the local communities as they may vary between locations.

Services Australia general manager Hank Jongen said self-service options would continue to be available during this period.
