CALUMET CITY – A woman was arrested Sunday in connection with the death of her roommate.

Pamela L. Burns, 45, died in a homicide from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County medical examiner.

Calumet City police found Burns dead after replying to her apartment on the 100 block of Oglesby Avenue at around 5:40 a.m. Sunday for a report on a woman lying on the ground, the city spokesman said , Steve Patterson.

Investigators suspect a domestic dispute led to the shooting, he said.

Burns’ roommate was taken into custody in Merrillville hours later.

Calumet City Police have received an arrest warrant to extradite the Lake County roommate to Cook County, Patterson said.

No formal charges were brought against the Cook County roommate. The shooting was an isolated incident, officials said.
