JEFFERSON, Wis. — Jefferson police say they’ve taken one person into custody and are searching for another suspected in a stabbing at a city park that happened late last week.

In a Facebook post shared Thursday morning, officials with the Jefferson Police Department said they’ve been investigating the Friday stabbing with help from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s offices, and other local law enforcement agencies.

Authorities did not immediately share any other details about the stabbing itself.

Police said they executed two search warrants at two residences on South High Avenue in Jefferson on Wednesday. During their searches, authorities found evidence tied to the stabbing; Police didn’t say what kind of evidence they collected.

One suspect, 18-year-old Azael Aguirre, was taken into custody on a tentative charge of child abuse – recklessly causing harm for his alleged involvement in the fight.

Police said they’re still searching for another suspect: 20-year-old Alejandro Delgado. Delgado is described as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs roughly 141 pounds. He also has short, dark hair.

Anyone with information about Delgado’s location is asked to contact the Jefferson Police Department at 920-674-7707.
