THREE Isle of Wight fathers have been made subject of liability orders — to make them pay outstanding child support.

Among them, a 35-year-old from Shanklin was ordered to pay £11,045.28 in child support — for the period between September 5, 2020, and January 21, 2022.

Another — a 48-year-old from Sandown — was ordered to pay £8,508 in outstanding child support, for the period between April 16, 2013, and October 22, 2016.

The third — a 33-year-old man from Cowes — was ordered to pay £1,080.16, for the period between March 14, 2017, and November 26, 2021.

All three cases were heard at North Somerset Magistrates’ Court on March 25.

A liability order gives additional powers for collecting the debt owed.

This advice covers situations when there is a private arrangement and also when the arrangement is via the Child Support Agency (CSA).
